A closed simulation channel for rain, fog, and light scenarios for intelligent connected vehicle testing is constructed. This channel can simulate different intensities of rainfall, different concentrations of fog and light conditions with different intensities and color temperatures, in order to test the performance of intelligent connected vehicles under special meteorological conditions.
■This channel can achieve precise simulation of five rainfall intensity levels: 5mm/h, 10mm/h, 25mm/h, 50mm/h, and 100mm/h. The range of rainfall intensities of 5mm/h, 10mm/h, and 25mm/h covers the entire channel. The range of rainfall intensity of 50mm/h is 120 meters. The range of rainfall intensity of 100mm/h is 60 meters.
■For the 5mm/h and 10mm/h levels, the error in rainfall intensity is less than 10%. For the 25mm/h, 50mm/h, and 100mm/h levels, the error in rainfall intensity is less than 5%. The uniformity of rainfall at each level is greater than 85%.
■There are multiple models of rainfall nozzles installed, and the corresponding nozzles are utilized according to the requirements of rainfall intensity, so that the indicators of rainfall such as droplet size, uniformity, and falling speed are as close as possible to natural and real rainfall.
■Real-time monitoring devices are equipped for rainfall intensity. It can measure the rainfall situation in various areas within the channel in real time and send data feedback to a unified monitoring system.
■ Visibility: It can simulate artificial fog with three levels of visibility: small fog, medium fog, and heavy fog. The visibility of heavy fog is 15m (with an error of less than 5m), the visibility of medium fog is 30m (with an error of less than 7m), and the visibility of small fog is 100 meters (with an error of less than 10m). A visibility meter is used to monitor visibility in real-time and achieve closed-loop control, the quantitative indicators are determined based on actual debugging results, and the visibility error within one minute of continuous operation does not exceed 15%.
■Particle size control: A fluid system is used to create mist, with maximum atomized particles not exceeding 30 microns.
■ Segmented control: The fogging system inside the channel can be divided into two control segments, each segment approximately 100m long.
■ Stable fogging time: The fogging process can be completed within 30 minutes and the specified concentration index can be reached.
■ Continuous fogging time: After stable fogging is formed, it can last for more than 45 minutes.
■ Lighting fixtures at the top of the channel that simulate uniform outdoor lighting are installed.
1) Illuminance: At the ground level, six levels of illuminance simulation can be achieved with an average illuminance of 2500lux, 1000lux, 500lux, 100lux, 20lux, and 5lux.
2) Illumination segmented control: The illumination simulation inside the channel can be divided into two sections for control, each section is about 100 meters.
3) Nighttime condition simulation: When the lighting equipment in the channel is turned off and the entrances and exits are closed, the average illumination in the channel does not exceed 0.1lux.
The channel body has a good ability to isolate light, and there are soft light blocking barriers that can be opened and closed at the entrance and exit of the channel. When the soft light blocking barrier is closed, the ambient light brightness in various parts of the channel is less than 0.1lux to meet the requirements of simulating nighttime conditions testing.
